Filipe Baptista is a Portuguese artist whose work unfolds across sound, experimental music, videogames, performance and installation art.

He began his artistic career as a performer and stage creator while completing an MSc in Computer Science and Multimedia. This hybrid relationship between the physical body and the polymorphism of digital media became a foundation for a practice spanning different artistic and technical fields.

His works grow from an intuitive process of translating inner images, sounds and memories into physical and digital spaces, allowing each idea to find its own medium while remaining connected through a personal mythology. Sound plays a central expressive and narrative role throughout his practice, alongside image, movement and interaction, shaping atmospheric spaces that invite suspension and immersion.

Alongside his own creations, Baptista has worked extensively as a sound artist and composer within the Portuguese theatre and performance scenes, creating music and sound design for more than a dozen stage productions. Recently, he was commissioned by National Theatre D. Maria II to compose the score for Macbeth, which reopened the theatre in the 2026–27 season.

His latest project, the installation+VR experience Through the Chiral Veil, premieres at Temps d’Images Festival in Lisbon on October 30–31. He is also co-founder of Nemorea, an art/dev studio working across videogames, music and installation art. He lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal.
